The Tree Nursery, a joint project of the Tree Committee and volunteers with the DPW, was begun to grow bare root stock to the point that they could be planted in town-owned locations including street right-of-ways. Bare root stock can be purchased at a lower cost, thus saving the town money, and after growing in the Tree Nursery for three to four years provide a shade or ornamental tree suitable for transplanting to its final location.
